Sheera Talpaz is Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she teaches courses on modern Hebrew, Arabic, and English literatures. Her research focuses on the relationship between literature, politics, and history primarily in Palestine/Israel, including on the public, extraliterary roles that writers adopt; poetic/literary representations of crisis; reception by the public and the state; and state repression and imprisonment of writers. She lives in Durham, North Carolina.
